What is Network ?
Network is group of interconnected computers or networking Device or systems that can comminicate with each others for purpose of data sharing.
Purpose of Network is connect with each other and exchange of data and services.
Networks can Small area Network to Large Area Network ( LAN to WAN ). Networks can be Wired or Wireless.
Guided Media :
Guided Media also known as wired media , Media transmitted through physical media ( Wires ). So It’s called Guided Media.
Unguided Media :
Unguided Media also known as Wireless Media. Media transmitted through Wireless Medium like Bluetooth , Wi-Fi, etc. So It’s called Unguided Media.
Types Of Network :
- LAN : LAN stands for Local Area network. A small network that can be implement in Office , one building or home network.
- MAN : MAN stands for Metropolitan Area Network. It covers larger geographical area with in a Town or Village. It’s bigger than LAN and Smaller than WAN.
- WAN : WAN stands for Wide Area Network. It’s covers large geographical area within a country or Countries to Countries. Ex. Internet
These 3 are Main types of Network, There are many other types of Network Such as CAN ( Campus Area Network), SAN (Storage Area Network), PAN ( Personal Area Network).
What is Internet ?
Internet is global network of interconnected computer networks. It enables users to communicate and access of resources like websites , email , etc. Internet links millions of Private , Home , Corporate , Business , governments networks.
What is Intranet ?
Intranet is a private or Internal network of any company , government . The intranet is designed to allow secure communication, information sharing, and collaboration within the organization, without being accessible to outsiders. It’s mainly using for information or data security.
Network Architecture :
In Networking , Mainly two types of Architecture :
- Client-Server Architecture
- Peer to Peer Architecture
1. Client-Server Architecture :
In this Model, the system is divided into 2 parts. Client & Server. It’s Centralized model in which Client send request to Server for accessing data and Server understand request and send the response to Client.
This model works on Request-Response Model. Client Sends request to server. Server sends response to Client.
2. Peer to Peer Architecture :
In this Model, Each Device can connected with each other. All devices connect with all device. Each device on the network is called Peer. It’s a Decentralized Network.
